Jakarta, TAMBANG – The Indonesian government, via the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), has officially set administrative penalty rates for mining activity violations in forest areas involving strategic commodities. This rule is specified in ESDM Ministerial Decree No.391.K/MB.01/MEM.B/2025 on Administrative Penalty Rates for Mining Violations in Forest Areas for Nickel, Bauxite, Tin, and Coal Commodities.
Signed by ESDM Minister Bahlil Lahadalia on December 1, 2025, this regulation follows Article43A of Government Regulation No.45 of 2025, which outlines procedures for imposing administrative sanctions and managing Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) from administrative penalties in the forestry sector. It reaffirms the government’s commitment to regulating forest areas against illegal mining or non-compliant licensed mining activities.
