“十四五”期间，四川省攀枝花市钒钛磁铁矿资源量、煤炭、晶质石墨矿等矿种储量显著提升，矿产资源规划任务目标整体完成。攀枝花市作为中国重要战略资源基地，共发现矿产种类76种、矿产地490余处（含矿点、矿化点）。
“十四五”以来，该市落实各级财政投入资金7940.2万元，实施米易县横山钒钛磁铁矿普查等23个找矿项目；撬动社会资金1.53亿元，开展红格北矿深部及周边资源勘查等7个项目。截至目前，已提出战略资源找矿靶区16处、地热找矿靶区11处、矿泉水找矿靶区1处。
