巴西总统于周二明确誓言，巴西将充分借助包括世界贸易组织（WTO）在内的全部可利用资源 ，坚决捍卫本国利益，有力抵御美国新关税带来的冲击。

当地时间8月5日，巴西总统卢拉在外交部出席会议时直言，美国总统无权对巴西加征高达50%的高额关税。巴西将即刻启动应急计划，旨在最大程度减轻这一不公正行为造成的冲击，尽可能降低经济与社会层面的损失。
