French mining enterprise Eramet is closely monitoring the approval process for the 2026 Work Plan and Budget (RKAB) of PT Weda Bay Nickel (WBN), which remained unpublished by Indonesia’s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) as of early January 2026. Nancy Pasaribu, Head of Communications at Eramet Indonesia, noted that as a minority shareholder in WBN, Eramet recognizes the ongoing nature of the 2026 RKAB approval process. Currently, WBN continues to coordinate with and adhere to ESDM’s guidelines on sustaining mining production activities. Eramet will maintain oversight of the approval progress, Pasaribu told Kontan.co.id on Sunday, January 11, 2026.
Earlier, ESDM acknowledged it had not issued the 2026 annual RKAB approval amid ongoing discussions on production adjustments for several mineral and coal commodities.
