印度安赛乐米塔尔新日铁有限公司（AMNS）于3月24日周二发布声明称，已为一座年产能820万吨的新建钢铁厂举行奠基仪式，该项目位于南部安得拉邦，总投资654.6亿美元。
该项目分两期建设，总产能达1780万吨。一期年产能820万吨的钢铁厂将于2029年初投产，另需额外投资110亿美元建设配套港口，该港口年货运吞吐量为5000万吨。二期工程将把钢铁厂产能进一步提升至1780万吨，总投资约1365.4亿美元。
一期项目需占地2200英亩，其中约890英亩最初由政府划拨用于另一项目，公司ȡ..矿浆管道是项目加速推进的主要原因之一。该管道起始于恰蒂斯加尔邦NMDC有限公司的拜拉迪拉矿，目前服务于AMNS位于佩达佩塔村附近的球团厂。
