作为印度国家绿色氢任务的核心构成单元，印度政府已正式批准钢铁行业三大绿氢试点项目，同步拨付约4100万美元专项财政资金，项目预计未来三年内全部建成投用。这三大试点由印度新能源和可再生能源部（MNRE）主导推进，分别交由矩阵气体与可再生能源公司（Matrix Gas and Renewables）、辛普莱克斯铸造公司（Simplex Castings）及印度钢铁管理局（SAIL）负责落地运营。
作为国家任务下的冶金专项计划，项目核心目标是探索钢铁生产领域...煤炭与焦炭，实现显著减碳降排。此外，去年秋季印度JSW能源已投产国内首座且规模最大的绿氢生产装置，定向向卡纳塔克邦维贾亚纳加尔的JSW钢铁直接还原铁装置供应绿氢。
