据印度印度教徒报报道，印度煤炭部联合秘书Sanjeev Kumar Kassi指出，印度具备约1.4亿至1.5亿吨进口煤的替代空间，以降低能源供应的对外依赖。印度年进口煤规模约2.5亿吨，其中焦煤占比约6000万吨，依赖进口煤的电厂用煤约4000万吨，剩余1.4亿至1.5亿吨存在国产产能替代的可行性。
政府正推动钢铁行业通过“压块配煤”技术替代进口焦煤，同时鼓励海绵铁生产领域扩大国产煤使用；电厂掺烧进口煤同比降幅超50%，去年相关进口量为1510万吨，今年已降至730万吨，替代效应显著。
库存层面，截至周一，印度电厂煤炭库存达5518万吨，可支撑约24天连续发电需求，且库存持续补充...矿（含国有企业、邦属企业、自备矿、港口及在途库存）总库存1.719亿吨，整体煤炭库存约2.27亿吨，供应保障能力充足。
