5月13日，自然资源部发布西藏江达县玉龙铜矿资源储量核实成果，矿区新增铜资源量131.42万吨、钼10.77万吨、银793吨。累计查明铜资源量达753.4万吨、钼45.9万吨、银3048吨，标志青藏高原大型铜多金属资源基地建设迈上新台阶。
玉龙铜矿位于藏东三江成矿带玉龙斑岩铜矿带北段，为中国规模最大、经济价值最高的斑岩—矽卡岩型铜多金属矿床之一，目前年产铜金属量超15万吨。
2024年以来，西部矿业集团下属西藏玉龙铜业与中国地质科学院联合攻关，开展矿区深边部地质勘查。中国工程院院士唐菊兴团队以斑岩成矿系统理论为指导，通过系统钻孔编录、三维地质建模等技术，建立矿床三维模型，提出南部深部存在隐伏斑岩型和厚大矽卡岩型富铜矿体的新认识。
项目团队克服高寒高海拔环境，完成5万余米钻探验证，在南部深部探获斑岩接触带厚大矽卡Ų..矿产资源勘查提供技术支撑与理论依据。
