中国江西省地质局有色大队完成的崇义县茅坪矿区钨多金属矿资源储量核实报告通过评审备案，实现重大找矿突破。该成果填补赣南地区深部钨锂共生矿床勘查空白，为中国战略性矿产资源保障体系建设提供中国江西支撑。茅坪矿区地处中国江西南岭成矿带核心区域，是中国重要钨多金属成矿带组成部分。
自1965年起，该大队持续开展矿区勘查，1980年完成系统性地质详查，累计槽探37127.55立方米、钻探82364.47米，明确地层构造与矿化分布。2003年总结“上脉下体”成矿模式，为深部找矿奠定基础。2010年及2022年深部勘查中，发现深部隐伏蚀变花岗岩体具有钨锡共生、锂伴生特征，勘查重点从传统石英脉型矿体延伸至深部岩体。
