澳大利亚矿业公司芒特吉布森（Mount Gibson）宣告，自10月16日发生塌方事故后，将终止其位于西澳大利亚州（WA）近海的高品位库兰岛（Koolan Island）铁矿石矿场运营。

芒特吉布森于10月24日发布声明称，8天前该矿场部分矿坑岩壁坍塌。虽此次事故无员工受伤，但后续评估表明，该矿场已无法恢复采矿作业。因此，该矿场采矿作业不再重启，项目提前终止，较原计划2026年10月左右的关闭时间大幅提前。

芒特吉布森表示，短期内将继续加工作业，借助现有库存完成已安排的发货计划。此外，公司此前用于配矿的低品位库存也可能对外销售。在7 – 9月季度，公司销售了55万吨湿吨（wmt）铁矿石，平均品位为64.3%铁（Fe）。受矿场关闭影响，芒特吉布森取消了原设定的2025 – 26财年（截至2026年6月30日）销售指引，此前指引为300万 – 320万湿吨。
