Marimaca Copper（多伦多证券交易所代码：MARI，澳大利亚证券交易所代码：MC2）宣布，其位于智利安托法加斯塔地区低沿海山脉的旗舰氧化矿项目，已获得正式环境批准，距离具备建设条件更近一步。
该Marimaca氧化矿床（MOD）规划为露天开采、堆浸作业，计划在13年内每年生产约50,000吨阴极铜。其矿山设计围绕传统且优化的溶剂萃取与电积工艺，通过使用来自梅希约内斯湾的循环海水，将环境影响降至最低。
去年12月，Marimaca向智利当局提交了环境影响报告，并成功解答了关于项目对当地社区潜在影响的相关问题。该加拿大铜矿开发商表示，环境影响报告的正式批准是 “经过严格筹备与参与流程后取得的，包括多年的环境基线研究、社会与考古信息收集、多项自愿性利益相关方参与计划，以及各类技术与项目工程研究”。
