美国当地时间周五,密歇根大学如期发布9月消费者信心报告,呈现出不容乐观的态势。尽管美股近几个月屡创新高,美国消费者信心却急速下滑。

报告数据显示,美国消费者信心指数从上个月的58.2降至55.4,仅高于今年4月和5月“关税冲击”期间的多年低点,且低于经济学家事前预期的58;消费者预期指数也从55.9骤降至51.8 。

通胀预期方面,美国消费者预计未来一年物价将以4.8%的年率上涨,与上月持平;未来5到10年物价将以3.9%的年化速度增长,高于上月的3.5%。

消费者信心不佳、担忧通胀并非新现象,但9月报告有一特殊数据点:美国消费者对丢掉工作的恐慌情绪再度抬头,达到与金融危机、新冠疫情等动荡时期相同高度。调查主管Joanne Hsu解读称,今年以来消费者对自身失业预期概率大幅上升,9月再次提高,表明消费者担心受劳动力市场负面变化影响,同时也正遭受持续高物价的挤压。
